Asset management is a service offered by investment managers and investment banks to other companies to manage funds on behalf of other financial institutions, to obtain the best return possible for their chosen risk profile.

Typical clients are:

  • Pension funds
  • Investment funds
  • Insurance firms

Unlike private wealth management, they do not manage funds on behalf of individuals.
